Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

  • Email address — provided at checkout, used to send your results and as a backup identifier for your generation.
  • Business brief — the description you submit to generate names. This text is processed to produce your results.
  • Payment metadata — processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details; Stripe handles all payment data.
  • Analytics data — anonymized usage information collected via Google Analytics (pages visited, session duration, general location). No personally identifiable information is sent to Google Analytics.

2. Why We Collect It

  • To generate and deliver your 10 name suggestions.
  • To email you a link to your results.
  • To process your payment securely via Stripe.
  • To understand how people use Namedrop so we can improve it.

3. Who We Share Data With

We share data only with the services required to operate Namedrop. We never sell your data.

  • Stripe — payment processing. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (your results email).
  • Supabase — our database, where your results are stored so the shareable link works.
  • Vercel— our hosting provider. Requests pass through Vercel's infrastructure.
  • OpenAI— your business brief is sent to OpenAI's API to generate name suggestions. OpenAI's data usage policies apply to this data.
  • Google Analytics — anonymized usage data to help us understand traffic patterns.

4. Data Retention

Your generated results are stored indefinitely in Supabase so that the shareable link continues to work. If you would like your data deleted, email us at hello@namedrop.cc and we will remove it.

5. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are based in the EU or EEA, you have the following rights under GDPR:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data.
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to our processing of your data.

6. Cookies

Namedrop uses two categories of cookies:

  • Essential cookies — required for the service to function (e.g., session state). These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies— set by Google Analytics to measure traffic and usage. You can opt out via your browser's cookie settings or a browser extension such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on.

7. Children

Namedrop is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
